Environment Minister Yasmin Fuad Sharm has met with the Canadian delegation head within the 14th Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity held in El Sheikh.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the possibility of holding high-level meetings in Montreal next April, and next year, a range of environmental ministers and businessmen from different sectors were present at the request of the Canadian delegation to maximize political support.
During the meeting, the delegation confirmed readiness of the Canadian government to support the Egyptian initiative to counter the deterioration of biological diversity and the use of modern systems for climate change.
The Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity is currently being held on Wednesday, November 13 and 29, in Sharm El Sheikh on the topic of investing in human and planet biological diversity.
