Egypt wants to get "formal agreements" that would not diminish the Nile share of Cairo in Ethiopia during the largest hydraulic fence in Africa.
President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi said on Tuesday that journalists "should turn Ethiopia's goodwill into formal agreements" and that the dam would not be used for "political purposes". He said that Egypt was a "positive sign" for the Ethiopian government.
Egypt is worried that a barrier to $ 4.8 billion may reduce the share of the Nile River. Ethiopia says it needs a dam for its economic development.
Two people do not know how quickly a reservoir behind the dam will be replenished and how it will affect Nile's share in Egypt.
