Mobile workers in northern Ethiopia exposed to Visceral Leishmanias – Science Daily

Visceral Leishmaniasis (VL) is a life-threatening disease caused by a brush of sandy tip. Annually from 3,700 to 7,400 people are infected in Ethiopia, especially in the northern, agricultural regions, providing sandy vectors with ambient air and surrounding aircrafts. The study shows that transitional population in Ethiopia can be particularly vulnerable to VL infections due to acquisition and mortality.
