Bisnis.com, JACARTA – Asus immediately updated the Android 9.0 Pie operating system for ZenFone 5 Series phones.
ZenFone 5, ZenFone 5Z and ZenFone 5Q users will soon be able to see the latest Android operating systems.
Asus Indonesia Country Manager Jimmy Lynn said that the operating system update will be automatically distributed via micro-software (FOTA). ZenFone 5 will be upgraded to ZenFone 5Z and ZenFone 5Q at the end of Q1 2011.
"All Zenfone 5 Series users will be able to test different capabilities in Android Pie," the official statement said on Thursday (22.11.2012)
ZenFone 5 Series users will be notified automatically when the Android 9.0 Pie update is available. Users can directly download updates via the FOTA method to start the installation process.
When the update completes download, the notification will pop up and the user will start updating. It may take a few minutes to set up the Android 9.0 Pie update and the device will restart twice.
Asus also offers a manual version of FOTA for devices that do not have the Android 9.0 Pie notification. This manual update will be available within a week after the FOTA update. This manual update procedure is recommended to ensure that all ZenFone 5 Series devices can receive Android Pie operating system updates.
"Through manual procedures, we can ensure that none of the ZenFone 5 Series users are lagging behind and do not like Android Pie," Lyn said.
The manual update procedure is also very easy to access through the Options> System> System Updates menu. The system checks the availability of updates and can be installed by the user immediately. During installation, the device will restart twice.
"At present, Pie 9.0 for ASUS ZenFone 5 series smartphones is under trial. If there is no problem, we hope that we will provide it to the public by schedule, "Jimmy said.
