Famous actors, writers and musicians will read the letters of the new podcast series, Vince Van Gogh (1853-1890). Van Gogh Museum wants to draw attention to the works of a large audience.
The weekly release series includes Adriaan van Dis, Loes Luca, Kees van Kooten, Lucky Fonz III, Akwasi, Janne Schra and Ted van Lieshout.
Readers say that they are similar to quotes from Van Gogh. Visitors will also be able to read 140-year-old letters on the museum's website, mark the tracks and share them in social media.
"Van Gogh is not only an artist, but also a great writer," says museum director Ahsel Rüger, "We have great interest in his letters and make them accessible to the larger audience. There are over eight letters from the artist, collected in the Van Gogh Museum. He wrote many to his brother Theo. According to Rugger, the themes that he talked about are still relevant.
