JENEVA / Kampala. The life-threatening Ebola virus continues to spread in Congo, Central Africa and neighboring countries. About 1600 assistants will be vaccinated in border medical centers in Uganda, Health Minister Jane Ruth Agen said.
The World Health Organization (WHO) reports that Ebola has been reported from South Sudan, Uganda, and even Yemen. But in no case Ebola was infected.
About 12 million people have been tested at the border checkpoints at the Congo borderline for Ebola symptoms. There were 14 suspicious cases, one of them was identified by the virus.
According to the Ministry of Health, from the beginning of August to the end of October, 250 people were convinced and 35 were with the Ebola virus. 81 patients were rehabilitated, 180 patients died.
WHO is concerned about the increasing number of Congo cases. WHO head Aden Gibsonis will visit Congo this week. He is also accompanying the head of the UN Peace Mission, Jean-Pierre Lacroix. (AP)
